KOLKATA: After a gap of more than two years the government has filled the post of member of finance at Damodar Valley Corporation on Tuesday.
Suvamay Halder has taken over as member finance at Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) on Monday. Over the last two years, the member secretary at DVC was holding additional charge of member finance at the Corporation.
Halder is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has an experience of over three decades in finance, accounts and taxation.
Prior to joining DVC, Haldar was general manager, finance, at Bharat Heavy ElectricalsBSE 1.28 % (BHEL) and held charge as the head of finance and accounts department of Eastern Region of BHELBSE 1.28 %.
At present, DVC has a total installed power generation capacity of around 7,800 mw and is in talks with Neyveli Lignite for selling off its 1,200 mw Raghunathpur Thermal Power Project.
